We expect the 2027 GMC Yukon to arrive as a fully redesigned vehicle, possibly an EV, though nothing has been confirmed by GM yet. The Yukon was last refreshed in 2025 where the Yukon received upgrades both inside and out. We expect the 2027 model to take on a whole new look and feel, especially if there's an EV variant.The all-new 2027 GMC Yukon should arrive with a whole new look, including a new grille and front fascia, new headlights, and a slightly sleeker look. We expect the design changes to flow around the body of the large three-row SUV, and for the tailgate to get new styling as well. We expect new taillights, connected by a thin strip of lighting across the top or middle of the lift gate.Inside we expect GMC to build on the premium luxury feel they established with the last update, which brought a 16.8-inch-diagonal premium GMC Infotainment Center as the centerpiece of the interior. This system allows drivers to customize their driving experience, and we expect this system to be the centerpiece for the new cabin as well. In 2025, GMC expanded the sophistication of its interiors with the Denali Ultimate and AT4 Ultimate trims. We expect this kind of treatment in the 2027 model as well.2027 GMC Yukon Engine & SpecsWith the possible emergence of an EV powertrain in the next GMC Yukon, we're not sure what will power the large vehicle. The latest versions came with a choice of engines, including a 5.3L V8 making 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, and a 6.2L V8 which makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.There's also an available 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel option which offers 3.5 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. These are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. We expect to see some version of these engines in the 2027 model unless the lineup goes EV only, then we expect the 2027 Yukon to ride on the same technology as the GMC Sierra EV or Hummer EV.2027 GMC Yukon SafetyThere is plenty of safety tech on GMC's flagship Yukon, which includes front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, rear cross-traffic braking, a side bicyclist alert, intersection automatic emergency braking, automatic emergency braking, a following distance indicator, lane-keeping assist, auto high beams, front and rear parking sensors, and an HD rearview camera. In 2025, the Yukon gained advanced safety tech that was optional, including Night Vision, and thermal object detection. We hope these features will become standard at some point.2027 GMC Yukon PriceThere's no word on what the price may start at for the 2027 GMC Yukon, though we expect the redesign and possible EV variant to bump up the cost. The most recent Yukon on sale at the time of writing starts at $60,195 including destination.
